Big Brother 25 (Week 13)- Is the Season Over Yet?
Like most Big Brother fans worldwide, I'm ready for the season to end. Fortunately, we've almost reached the end. This week continued the stream roll for The Minutemen, with both members winning a competition. This meant we knew the entire week without ever needing to play it. Regardless, we saw seven days of gameplay and an eviction none of us were looking forward to.
The Minutemen are Cracking
The only interesting part of the week was the continued cracking of Matt and Jag. While I'm not 100% sold they won't take each other to the end, we may see one cut before Finale Night on Thursday. We have Cory to blame for this because he was very clear that Matt is the better player between the two, and this has gotten in both of their heads. This only helps Bowie Jane and Felicia, who are now further down on the list regarding their threat level. Otherwise, it was a long week with little movement.
Matt's HOH Reign
Before the HOH Competition last Thursday, Matt told Cirie she was safe and wouldn't go on the block if he won. Then, he won and nominated Cirie next to Felicia. However, he assured her she was safe from the jump. Ultimately, she was evicted. He put his foot in his mouth to save Bowie Jane, of all people. He drew the line in the sand and declared he planned to go to the end with Jag and Bowie Jane, which is likely a mistake. We're lucky that Cirie was able to see Jag was the real reason she left, but it surprises me she left during Matt's HOH. Also, can we point out how weird it was that his letter was from Reilly and not his family? I like Reilly. I think she's great, but why didn't we get something from his mom or another loved one?
This Week's Eviction
This was the week we've been dreading all season. While I didn't grow up watching Cirie on Survivor, and I haven't watched her on The Traitors, I was privy to her reputation as a social game savant. For most of the season, we saw her control the game from the background while forging relationships with people in the house who brought all of their information to her. She did it with a major hindrance in the house. Playing the game with her son was a blind spot, yet she stayed afloat. Her inability to win competitions would catch up to her eventually, especially in an age where the competitions skew toward physical players like Matt and Jag. It also became increasingly apparent that she was fed up with the people in the house. Cirie was in the house for 93 days, less than 30 days shorter than her four Survivor stints combined. The fact she said Big Brother was tougher than Survivor highlights how crazy this season has been. She didn't like these people, so she tolerated them to a point. That's why Cirie grew on me in the endgame. She embodied how the rest of us feel watching this season. It was an honor to see her work for almost 100 days.
What Could Happen This Week?
As we're sure to hear a few times in the next few days, the winner of the Final 4 HOH Competition doesn't matter. Everything comes down to the veto. Bowie Jane winning the HOH simply means she's the first to confirm her spot for Finale Night next Thursday, and she'll make the initial nominations. Otherwise, her reign is ceremonial. It doesn't take a genius to deduce she'll nominate Felicia and Matt because she has developed a Final 2 with Jag. It is also obvious the Veto Competition will be about the days, which suggests it could be more physical.
If Bowie Jane wins the veto, Matt and Felicia will remain on the block, giving Jag his choice for the Final 3. She will have little to no say in anything that will happen from this point.
If Jag wins the veto, nominations would remain the same, giving him the sole vote to evict. Between Felicia and Matt, he should keep Felicia around. Keeping Matt would be too risky for his chances of winning the game.
If Matt wins the veto, he's taking himself on the block. Then, he'll cast the sole vote to evict either Jag or Bowie Jane. He should evict Jag, but Matt seems more likely to take Jag to the end, something I can't see Jag doing.
If Felicia wins the veto, America wins. This is the most fun option for our enjoyment, though also the most unlikely. Should she complete the upset, she's casting the lone vote. With Matt and Jag on the block, Felicia should evict Jag.
All this leads me to believe the Final 3 will likely be Bowie Jane, Jag, and Felicia. If that happens, it's Jag's game to lose. Jag can beat both, regardless of what Thursday's HOH Competition suggests. If anything, it proves he better beat Bowie Jane in the Part 3 quiz before it gets to a tiebreaker because she's 3-0 in tiebreakers during quiz competitions. If Bowie Jane, Felicia, or Matt, if he manages to survive Sunday night, take Jag to the end, they deserve to lose.
