Big Brother 25 (Week 8)- How to Extend a Season to 100 Days

If we're being honest, this was a waste of a week. The only interesting part of the week was Cameron and Jared competing to return to the house. If it were any other houseguests, this might've been fun to watch. Instead, it was two of the most disliked people in the house trying to keep their games alive. There were two competitions all week, so while someone was set to re-enter the house, it felt like a giant waste of time. Either way, I have some thoughts about it.

Zombies Have Invaded the House
I said last week that I love a double eviction because of the drama it creates. Well, this double eviction did the exact opposite. While Cameron and Jared were evicted during last Thursday's episode, their games didn't end. Everyone got a sneaking suspicion something was up when it was announced there'd be no exit press for the visited houseguests. Everyone's fears would be clarified during the episode when Julie announced that Cam and Jared would get the chance to fight to re-enter the game. Instead of having a competition on the spot, they had an entire week to prepare while they sat inside the house with the people who'd just evicted them. Added to the confusion was that there'd be no HOH, no nominees, no veto, and no live vote for the week. This meant we'd get an entire week where the sole focus would be on two guys trying to get back into the house.

The fight to get back into the game came in two parts. First, Jared and Cameron went head-to-head to earn the advantage of deciding who would compete on Thursday night to determine whose game would be resurrected. The head-to-head competition was where they had to transfer balls on the teeter-totter with a giant shovel on the end that requires a ton of balance and a steady pace. Ignoring the fact the competition was three rounds for some dumb reason, Cameron absolutely crushed it, beating Jared with ease. This allowed Cam to decide who would compete on Thursday night to keep their game alive. I wasn't surprised at all that Cam decided to play. I'd have chosen to play, too. I wouldn't want to put my game in someone else's hands. There was speculation that the resurrection competition would be similar to Kaitlyn's puzzle from BB20. Instead, it was Frankie's vertical maze from BB16. All Cam had to do was get one ball into the zombie's hand in three minutes to re-enter the game.

This Week's Eviction...Kinda
Equipped with two handles, a PVC pipe, and a golden ball, Cam maneuvered the ball into the zombie's hand with 1:05 left on the clock, resurrecting his game and sending Jared out of the house for the second time in two weeks. This was the best outcome for Cory and America, while it obviously left Cirie in a bad spot. Though I do not like Cameron or his game, I'd rather have him in the house than Jared. I'll admit that Jared crying during his exit interview with Julie when talking about his mom still being in the house was touching, as was her message to him. Honestly, it was a long time coming, and I'm satisfied with this being the end of his game.

A Week Unlike Any Other
Guys, let's be honest about this week. It was terrible. A week without meaningful competitions, nominations, or a house vote makes for incredibly boring live feeds and episodes that don't mean anything. That's not what we want in a season that has purposefully been drawn out to 100 days. There were so many ways to prevent this from happening. Kirsten could've saved during the first week after there was an expulsion. They could've made it an 18-person season from the beginning. It's clear that BB Production was thrown for a loop after the first week of the season, and now they're struggling to make interesting television for 100 days. This was a bad twist that is an unfortunate byproduct of only having two episodes this week instead of the three we're accustomed to. This twist must be killed and remain buried for the rest of time.

What Could Happen Next Week (WITH HOH SPOILERS)
I would like to state for the record that I called Cameron winning the HOH after returning to the game. There is no way he wasn't going to win. It sounds like the HOH competition was a puzzle, but I knew this would be the outcome. If he's true to his word, Cameron wants to target Felicia. Cam views her as a bitter juror if she makes it to the jury phase, so she won't vote for the person who evicts her if they make it to the very end. This puts Felicia in the direct line of fire. As for alternatives, Cory is the most likely to be targeted next. Despite just one competition win and the duo of Matt and Jag being the most threatening, Cory and America have found themselves in the line of fire. Cory is seen as the ringleader, making it more likely that he'd go before America. With Cameron in charge, this could get incredibly interesting.
