Big Brother 26, Week 11 Review- Fun with Comics
After the double eviction took two fan favorites out of the game and into the jury house, the Final 5 trekked on as the season began its final stages. With a trio and a duo remaining, the fight for power would put one group in the immediate line of fire, while the other would strengthen its numbers with one more week before the finale. Honestly, it was a slow week, which is customary for this point in the game. Only five people in the house means a lot less commotion and more time to sit around and reminisce about everything.
Makensy's HOH Reign
MJ's two weeks in charge have been a masterclass in how to ruin your chances to win the game. Last week, she sent one of her closest allies home. This week, she failed to make a power move, allowing her misguided trust in Chelsie to dictate her nominations. Even when she considered using the veto, the renom would've been Cam instead of Chelsie, the clearer threat to her game. Now, she's the primary target because she refuses to see that Chelsie will likely cut her before she cuts Cam. It would've been so much fun to see MJ turn on Chelsie and Cam. Instead, MJ stuck to the status quo as Cam and Chelsie decided who to evict. MJ's chances to win aren't zero, though they continue to be slim without getting Chelsie out next week by winning the veto.
This Week's Eviction
Much like Angela last week, Kimo was on borrowed time. Tying her with seven trips on the block, Kimo was one of the initial nominees during the last six nomination ceremonies, managing to survive time and time again. Kimo's time in the house will be defined by his ability to improv and make songs. Socially, he was good, making friends easily. Game-wise, he was a non-factor. Kimo is a perfect example of a player being dragged to the end because he wasn't a threat to do anything impactful. His biggest "move" of the season was flipping the vote to evict Cedric with T'kor. After that, there wasn't another big move that Kimo made. That he made it this far in the game despite so many trips on the block is not a testament to his game.
Week 12 Preview (WITH HOH SPOILERS)
In a season as wild and chaotic as this, naturally, the least interesting option won the Final 4 HOH. Chelsie outlasted Cam and Rubina to claim the first spot in the finale. Nominations have already occurred, with Cam and Makensy going on the block to start the week. However, everyone knows that the veto holder wields the power this week, casting the lone vote to evict, or, in Chelsie's case, deciding who casts the vote. My gut is telling me that MJ is in the line of fire, despite the platitudes that Chelsie was giving her last week about going to the end with her. Of the potential F2s, Chelsie vs. Makensy is the most interesting to me. I think Chelsie wins it in this scenario, but there's no denying they have the two best resumes of anyone left in the game. It's all the more reason for Chelsie to cut MJ now to ensure she has a leg up on Cam and Rubina during the Final 3 HOH.
Power Ranking This Year's BB Comics
The highlight of the week was the reveal of the BB Comics for this season's houseguests. This is arguably my favorite tradition in the house as a comic fan. Like with Big Brother, some of them are good and some of them are bad. My opinion is not guaranteed to align with everyone else's, so take this ranking with a grain of salt.
16. Chelsie- The Micro Chip- She has been in the house this long and that's all she's remembered for? This is the biggest disappointment of the group because they could've done something more creative than the costume she wore during the first week.
15. Brooklyn- The Charcuter-Thief- While Chelsie's comic is ranked the lowest, this might've been the worst comic conceptually. This isn't a big deal unless Angela makes it one, thus marking this as Brooklyn's legacy in the house.
14. Cam- Cam-eleon- This one is just lazy, especially since Cam's game has been nothing like a chameleon. While he hasn't been winning everything, Cam has still been part of one of the biggest alliances.
13. Makensy- Mech-Kensy- This is another boring play on words, though a little more appropriate than Cam's given her competition success. It doesn't do anything to highlight a part of her game outside of winning everything.
12. Lisa- The Glitter Critter- They did Lisa dirty with this artwork, though glitter is the only thing about her that anyone remembers. She's almost unrecognizable as this Gremlin-like creature swimming in glitter.
11. Rubina- The Roller Rebel- We've entered "this makes a little more sense" territory with Rubina's because she's known to be a roller skater. My only gripe is that they could've been a little more creative with her.
10. Angela- The Atomic Mom- Brooklyn is probably a little mad that Angela got the comic about being a mother. She gets bonus points for Matt being included in her artwork as she holds him with an iron fist while standing taller than a skyscraper.
9. Quinn- Quinnsanity- The name could use a little work, but the hair being crazy and grabbing people was fine. Like Rubina, there probably could've been better options for a player who was so prevalent in the game before his eviction.
8. Matt- Crazy Eyes- Matt wasn't in the house long enough to be remembered for anything other than his "crazy eyes" as Angela put it. I'm a little confused as to what his power really is, but it wasn't bad for only being in the house for a little over a week.
7. Kenney- Sweet Kenney K- Kenney's comic borders on "so bad it's good" territory since this is one of the most confusing ones to wrap my head around. He has no one but himself to blame for this, though the Bostonian beating up a New York is a good detail.
6. Cedric- Young Cedric- The second Cedric was referred to as Young Cedric, this was destined to be his fate. The most interesting aspect of his comic is all of the past houseguests who made cameos in the background.
5. Kimo- Vol-Kimo- This feels relatively straightforward given that Kimo is from Hawai'i. It might not be the best representation of his game because Kimo was far from a fiery competitor, nor was he too intimidating.
4. Leah- The Chubby Chaser- I predicted Leah being called "The Chubby Chaser" the second that BB Comics was announced for this week. It's a well-established fact about her, though I'm confused whether she's a hero or a villain in her comic.
3. T'kor- Cro-Slay- This goes all the way back to the beginning of the season and her opening introduction from the premiere. She also wore plenty of her crocheted items on eviction nights to show off her work.
2. Tucker- The Instigator- While I still hold that the power was kind of lame through its execution, but the visual of the comic was good. It was a fitting representation of Tucker's short time in the house as the guy who stirred the pot and won a lot.
1. Joseph- Rewind- Visually, this is one of the more disturbing comics to look at because of Joseph's face. Conceptually, this is my favorite of the bunch because of the name being clever for a video store owner with a cool power.
